Unplugging the Monster

Composed and posted on March 3, 2016

Michael,

Yes, Mitt and his "conservative" brethren are not "clean" with regards to all this.  I have said elsewhere that the ascendancy of Trump is like a chicken that has come home to roost.  And yes, Trump is the monster that was created by Romney's Frankenstein.  But having said all that, I am very concerned about the monster running loose.  Yesterday I viewed a Trump rally where a black woman began shouting in protest.  She was immediately surrounded by some "goons" who began pushing and shoving her around to silence her.  Some of these goons were later identified as being affiliated with neo-Nazi groups who apparently have taken a strong liking for Mr. Trump.  These tactics (antics) brought back images from 80 years ago for me and I began to recall another man who wanted to make his country "great" again.  That man proved to be a true monster.  Learning from history, perhaps it is best to unplug the potential monster that is now rather than attempt to unplug the empowered monster that comes to exist later.  If so, then Mitt Romney's statement, self-serving though it may be, should be welcomed.

Peace,

Everett "Skip" Jenkins

And for those who yearn for a more "just" society, Romney is peddling the same old stuff that right-wing Republicans have been trotting out lo these many years.
There is no doubt that Trump is a rightwing nut (aka "conservative") on many issues.  But he hasn't kissed the rings of his fellow billionaires who are looking for massive tax cuts for themselves and massive cuts in social security, medicare, and medicade benefits.  Trump has said, for what it's worth, that he wants to save social security and medicare -- at least.  (How he can do this by repealing Obamacare is beyond impossible, but that's another conversation.)
Why would anybody ask God to bless the tribune of the greedy top one percent?  That's all that this is about.  Trump hasn't given Mittens and his avaricious friends sufficient assurance that the maldistribution of wealth in their favor will continue apace.  Nothing more than that.
Don't forget that the Republican Party invented Trump.  Sort of like Frankenstein and his monster.

Michael

For those who yearn for a more "civil" society, I think we all must say today,

God Bless, Mitt Romney
